Help A Child Smile (www.helpachildsmile.com) is a charity dedicated to bringing joy into the lives of children with cancer. HACS was founded in 1987 in honour of Kacey Lynn Rainville, whose wish to go to Wonderland inspired family and friends to “Help a Child Smile.” Since then, it has helped or is currently helping over 800 families with children being treated at McMaster Children’s Hospital in Hamilton. HACS provides assistance for lower-income families with needs that OHIP won’t cover. It also arranges activities for the kids, fundraising events, and trips to Wonderland and Florida.
