The 2017 NHL ALUMNI BENEFIT TOUR Presented by Scotiabank! celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Law Enforcement torch run your favorite former NHL legends face off against the Law Enforcement All Stars in support of the Special Olympics Ontario

(December 21st , 2017 – Orillia) – The Rotary Place will play host to Hockey Night in Orillia on Thursday December 21st, 2017!

Scotiabank proudly presents the 2017 NHL Alumni Benefit Tour featuring NHL legends from Stanley Cup winning teams, classic original 6 hockey teams and local former NHLers representing your hometown all in support of Special Olympics Ontario and the Law Enforcement Torch Run! The NHL Alumni Tour has proudly hosted hockey legends such as Walter Gretzky, Wendel Clark, Curtis Joseph, Tiger Williams, Theo Fleury and many more!

The Scotiabank NHL Alumni Benefit Tour gives fans a unique experience and an evening to remember that showcases top shelf hockey skills, on ice pranks and old fashioned hockey nostalgia. This great evening provides something for fans of all ages and gives you an exciting opportunity to see a lighter side of these hockey greats while raising money for a great cause.

The Scotiabank NHL Alumni Benefit Tour supports the Special Olympics and Law Enforcement Torch Run’s mission “To provide year-round sports training and athletic competition for individuals with intellectual disabilities.” Join us for a special night as we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Law Enforcement Torch Run Ontario!

Doors open at 6:00PM, game starts at 7:00pm at the Rotary Place, 100 University Avenue, Orillia, ON.

Walter Gretzky

Walter Gretzky

• Known as the first father of hockey, in 2007 he was awarded the Order of Canada for his contributions to minor hockey and dedication to helping local, provincial and national charities
• He also carried the Olympic Torch for the 2010 Winter Olympics

• Our next Alumnus is a former Belleville Bull that was drafted 4th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1984 draft
• He would go on to play 800 games in the NHL where he became a two time All Star and the winner of the hardest shot competition.

• Our next Alumnus is a former captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs, a 3-time 50-goal scorer and a 3-time NHL All-Star
• During his 14 seasons in the NHL he registered an incredible 441 goals in 876 games

• Our next Alumnus played 15 years in the NHL with the Bruins, Oilers, Leafs, Kings and Red Wings
• He is an NHL All-Star and a 3 time Stanley Cup Champion with the Edmonton Oilers

• Our next Alumnus played 12 seasons in the NHL and in 2001 he won a Stanley Cup alongside Ray Bourque as a member of the Colorado avalanche

• Our next Alumnus was named to the NHL All Rookie Team in 1983 and was a fan favorite in Toronto for his gritty style of play during his 8 seasons with the Maple Leafs

• Our next Alumnus was a speedy forward with a strong scoring ability
• He is a two time 40-goal scorer and was a solid contributor during Stanley Cup with the Edmonton Oilers and Montreal Canadiens

Jack Valiquette

• Our next Alumnus was drafted in the first round of the 1974 NHL draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs after registering an impressive 135 points in just 69 games with the Soo Greyhounds
• He would go on to play seven seasons in the NHL with the Leafs and Colorado Rockies

•Our next Alumnus is a Toronto native that was chosen by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2007 NHL draft after putting up 51 goals and 111 points with the Mississauga Ice Dogs of the OHL
• During his NHL career he would play alongside Sidney Crosby on the Pittsburgh Penguins and for his hometown Toronto Maple Leafs

• After a stellar junior career with the North Bay Centennials this next Alumnus was drafted in the 9th round by the Pittsburgh Penguins and he would go on to play over 500 NHL games with Penguins, Jets, Maple Leafs and Senators

• Our next Alumnus is a native of Barrie, ON and won a gold medal with Team Canada in the 1985 world junior championships
• He was a fine scorer and playmaker while playing with the Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs
Chris Kontos

Chris Kontos

• Our next Alumnus is best known for his nine goals in 11 playoff games while he was a member of the Los Angeles Kings
• He had a franchise opening night four-goal performance with the Tampa Bay Lightning against that season’s Vezina Trophy winner Ed Belfour.
• During his NHL career he played in 230 games registering 123 points

• Our next Alumnus was selected in the first round, 10th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.
• He scored the first goal in Winnipeg Jets franchise history.
• During his NHL career he played in 788 games registering 465 points
