This fan favourite captained the Maple Leafs from 1991 to 1994.

Nicknamed “Captain Crunch,” he played a very physical and intense style of hockey.

He was a member of Canada’s gold medal winning team at the 1985 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships.

He was selected first overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1985 NHL Entry Draft.

His professional career lasted from 1985 until 2000, during which time he played for the Maple Leafs, Quebec Nordiques, New York Islanders, Tampa Bay Lightning, Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks.

He racked up 10 goals and 10 assists in his 21 games during the ’93 playoffs.

In 1998 he signed as a free agent with the Tampa Bay Lightning, where he earned a spot on the North American All-Star team, and went on to score 28 goals in 65 games.

In 1999, he returned to Toronto for his last season with the NHL.
